The first church, built in 1878 as a temporary iron structure, grew from 54 to 450 members within a year, indicating the rapidly changing needs and attitudes of the community.
After the Second World War, the church, a beacon for over 70 years, was rebuilt after 1950, retaining its halls and educational section
