Details
In Pakistan thousands of Christians work as low paid workers at brick kiln and most of them have huge debts and many times is passed on to next generation. To liberate them costs a lot. In outskirts of Lahore, I visited a small community of Christian who work on brick kiln, Brick kiln # R-34 Khand Pind near Sua Assal Lahore Punjab, there are around 70-80 families at three brick kilns in area.
This community had a small place which they intended to use as Church, as a church planting initiative, HQCC helped them to build a roof so that people could use this place as a Church.
On 17th October 2024 this first Congregational church was established in for community and evangelist Noman Zafer was installed as their pastor.
One of the leader brother Khalid said “we are so delighted and blessed that HQCC has provide this church and pastor which will provide us with place of worship and strengthen in our faith.”
The vision of building a church for brick kiln Christian community is to create space of worship, hope, renewal of faith, peace and healing, for workers and their families. As often these people face harsh conditions, Church would serve as a place where individuals can come with their faith, experience divine comfort, and build resilience against the challenges of their daily lives.
Church will not only provide a space for spiritual support, prayer, but also community activities, offering comfort and a sense of belonging. Video projector is been donated to this Church so that every week Evangelist can show Christian films to Children and elderly. The Church could become a focal point for building strong relationships, fostering support networks and promoting a culture of solidarity and mutual care for one another.
